How the Nepal Atto 3 differs
The Atto 3 sold in Nepal has a 100 kW motor, whereas the Atto 3 sold in Australia and Europe has 150 kW. Nepal also got the 150 kW car at launch, at Rs 89.9 lakh. Cimex added the 100 kW version in February 2023, at a promotional Rs 64.9 lakh, and it has been the Nepal model since.
The 2026 Atto 3 sold in Nepal is not the Atto 3 Evo sold in Australia. It keeps the 49.92 kWh and 60.48 kWh batteries, and myRepublica reports a refresh with BYD's "Dynamic Dragon Face" styling, a column-mounted gear selector, 50 W wireless charging, an 8.8-inch instrument cluster, and ventilated front seats. No Evo launch for Nepal had been announced when this page was checked. The Evo page covers the Australian car.

EV taxes in Nepal
Nepal's budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year, presented in May 2026, changed how electric cars are taxed. Customs duty is now based on a car's value instead of its motor power. The Kathmandu Post reports customs duty fixed at 20% and the excise duty replaced by a Clean Infrastructure Investment Fee (CIIF) of 2.5% to 130%, depending on the customs value. A 5% road construction fee and 13% VAT also apply.
After that budget, the Atto 3 Advance rose from Rs 59.99 lakh to Rs 61.99 lakh. Cimex does not publish the Atto 3's customs value, so its CIIF rate is not known. Nepal presents a new budget each May, so the price can change again in 2027.
Warranty
Cimex lists an 8-year or 160,000 km warranty on the battery and the vehicle, subject to its terms and exclusions. During the NAIMA Mobility Expo from 11 to 16 August 2026, BYD also offered a 10-year extended warranty, a year of free insurance and road tax, and free accessories.
Battery repair
In March 2025, Bizness News reported that BYD has not authorized individual Blade cell replacement outside China. It described a lightly damaged Atto 3 on which Cimex's Biratnagar service center replaced the whole high-voltage pack, at a cost of Rs 21.95 lakh. So, outside the warranty, battery damage can mean the price of a full pack. The battery page covers the Blade design.
Colors, charging, and sales
Cimex lists six colors for the 2026 Atto 3: Ski White, Athene Blue, Harbour Grey, Cosmos Black, Atlantis Grey, and Parkour Red. It also lists 51 BYD charging stations across Nepal on its website. The Atto 3 is BYD's best-selling model in Nepal, with 4,246 sold from its 2022 launch to the end of 2025, according to Meroauto. The Atto 1 vs Atto 2 vs Atto 3 page compares BYD's three Atto models in Nepal.
