The Premium costs ₹7.34 lakh more than the Dynamic for the larger battery and 53 km of extra ARAI range. The Superior adds another ₹2.16 lakh on the same battery. Autocar India puts the on-road price in Delhi at ₹26.62 lakh to ₹36.74 lakh, and on-road charges differ by state.
ARAI range
ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) runs India's official range test, and its figures run higher than WLTP figures. The same 60.48 kWh battery is rated at 521 km by ARAI in India and 420 km on the WLTP test in Australia. So, an Indian range figure does not compare directly with a WLTP figure from another market. The range page covers real-world range.
The Indian Atto 3 against other markets
The Atto 3 sold in India has the 150 kW motor, as in Australia, not the 100 kW motor sold in Nepal. At launch, BYD said it would assemble the car at its Sriperumbudur plant in Tamil Nadu. The 2026 Atto 3 Evo went on sale in Australia in September 2026, but Autocar India's model page, updated on 21 September 2026, lists no Indian launch. The Evo page covers that car.
Price history
BYD launched the Atto 3 in India in November 2022 at ₹33.99 lakh ex-showroom, with the 60.48 kWh battery, and reported 1,500 bookings at launch. The Dynamic, with the smaller 49.92 kWh battery, now starts the range ₹9 lakh lower. On 1 July 2026, BYD India raised prices by ₹50,000 to ₹1 lakh on select variants of the Atto 3, Seal, and Sealion 7, while certain Atto 3 variants kept their prices. BYD India cited rising input costs and inflation.
Warranty
At launch, BYD India offered 6 years or 150,000 km on the vehicle, 8 years or 160,000 km on the battery, and 8 years or 150,000 km on the motor and motor controller. Those are the 2022 launch terms, and BYD India's current terms were not confirmed for this page, so check them with a dealer.
Sales and rivals
BYD sold about 6,000 cars in India in 2025, about 84% more than in 2024, across the Atto 3, Seal, Sealion 7, and eMax 7. India's passenger EV retail sales were 176,817 in 2025, so BYD took about 3.4%. In July 2026, BYD sold 742 EVs and ranked sixth, behind Tata at 13,578. BYD does not publish Atto 3 sales separately.
The Atto 3 is one of only two BYD models homologated in India, with the eMax 7. So, it is not limited by the rule that allows 2,500 imported cars a year without full local approval. Autocar India names the Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra BE 6, and Hyundai Creta Electric as its rivals.
