2026 price list

The Australian range has two variants: the front-wheel-drive Evo Dynamic and the rear-wheel-drive Evo Premium. Orders opened in August 2026, and first deliveries began in September.

The Dynamic costs $2,000 more than the Essential it replaced ($39,990), and the Premium is $2,000 more than the old Premium ($44,990). The list prices moved a little, but the Premium changed much more than its price.

Drive-away price

'Before on-road costs' is the list price without stamp duty, registration, CTP (compulsory third-party) insurance, and the dealer delivery fee. These costs are set by each state, so the same car has a different drive-away price in each state. In Victoria they add about $4,000: $45,919 for the Dynamic and $51,129 for the Premium. No Evo drive-away figures for other states have been published; dealer configurators calculate them only after a postcode is entered.

When comparing quotes:

  • Ask for a written drive-away quote for your postcode, not a list price.
  • Check what the quote includes, such as paint, floor mats, and delivery.
  • Ask whether your state offers an EV stamp duty or registration concession.

Dynamic or Premium

The Premium is not a trim upgrade with better seats. It has a larger battery, a different drive layout, and a faster charging system, so the two variants suit different buyers.

Evo Dynamic. The 60.48 kWh LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery gives 420 km of WLTP range, the official lab-test figure. It charges at up to 7 kW on AC and 110 kW on DC, and BYD quotes 41 minutes for a 0-80% DC charge. The 150 kW front motor reaches 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds.

Evo Premium. The 74.88 kWh Blade battery gives 510 km of WLTP range. It charges at up to 11 kW on AC and 220 kW on DC, and the quoted 0-80% DC time is 25 minutes (CarExpert) or 30 minutes (RACV). The 230 kW rear motor reaches 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds.

The Dynamic suits a buyer who drives mostly in town and charges at home overnight. In that use, the extra range and DC speed of the Premium are rarely needed. On regular country trips, the Premium's extra 90 km and doubled DC rate mean fewer and shorter charging stops. The 11 kW AC rate also helps when the house has three-phase power.

So, for $5,000 more, the Premium is the better buy for anyone who drives long distances. For town driving with home charging, the Dynamic is enough. Real-world figures are on the range and charging pages.

Runout and demo stock

Runout stock refers to new cars from the outgoing model, and demo stock refers to cars a dealer has used for test drives. Both can be priced below the new Evo range, but they are the older Essential and Premium, with less range and slower DC charging than the Evo Premium.

Before buying one:

  • Check the build date and, on a demo, the odometer.
  • Ask when the warranty started, because BYD's warranty on a demo starts when the dealer registered it.
  • Compare the discounted price with the Evo Dynamic, which lists at only $2,000 more than the Essential.

Used prices

The Atto 3 has been sold in Australia since 2022, so used stock is easy to find. Carsales indicative values from April 2026, excluding government charges:

Used BYD Atto 3 indicative values by model year
2022$24,200 to $31,200
2023$29,200 to $33,500
2024$29,700 to $41,000
2025$33,200 to $35,800

The spread inside each year is wide because battery size and trim vary, so compare cars with the same battery. Values also change month to month. Before buying used, confirm the battery warranty is still in force and ask for the service history. The buyer's guide and common issues pages cover what to inspect, and the used Atto 3 page covers warranty transfer and demo cars.

Novated lease and FBT

A novated lease is a car lease paid from pre-tax salary through an employer. Electric cars priced under the luxury car tax (LCT) threshold for fuel-efficient vehicles are exempt from fringe benefits tax (FBT), and both Atto 3 variants are well under it. That exemption can make a novated lease cheaper than buying outright for a salaried buyer.

The rules change in stages:

  • The full exemption continues until 31 March 2027.
  • From 1 April 2027 to 1 April 2029, EVs costing $75,000 or less keep the full exemption.
  • From 1 April 2029, all eligible EVs get a 25% discount instead.
  • Existing leases are grandfathered, so a lease signed before a change keeps the old treatment.

Quotes differ between providers, so compare the total cost over the lease term rather than the weekly payment.

Warranty and running costs

BYD covers the Atto 3 for 6 years or 150,000 km. The high-voltage battery and the drive unit have 8 years or 160,000 km of cover. Servicing, tires, and insurance are the main costs after purchase, and the ownership page covers them.
